Why we need to purge the PDI across each bed in DHT reactor with recycle gas?

If reactor effluent is allowed into the PDI, it becomes a cold spot in the system, and diesel can condense and build up a liquid level in one or both legs leading to the instrument. The presence of liquid in the instrument tubing would lead to a bad pressure differential reading, which would prevent proper monitoring of pressure drop across the reactor beds.
